The GAs from Grace Baptist Church in Warren, OH. participated in CMD by making tied blankets for Cortland Dialysis.  They delivered the blankets on Feb. 14, 2009.  All the nurses at Cortland Dialysis were so happy to receive the blankets.  They will give the blankets to those that need them.  The GAs were excited about the project and are looking forward to next year.

I am from Lighthouse Baptist church in Vincent, OH.  On Feb. 14, 2009 our 1st-6th graders (as many as could attend) went to the community Appletree Assisted Living center.  They sang songs about Jesus to the residents and they took Valentine's that they made and Valentine cookies that they decorated.  The resident's enjoyed the children.

The GA group from Grace Baptist Church, Warren, OH were so excited about Children's Ministry Day.  We discussed what we would like to do.  The girls wanted to make tie blankets for Cortland Dialysis because the patients get so cold.  So that is what we did.  The girls and some women make the blankets.  We even had lunch together that day.  We made 9 blankets.  We delivered the blankets, jigsaw puzzles and some puzzle books to Cortland Dialysis.  The nurses were so happy to get the blankets.  They said they would give them to the people that needed them.  They sent us a thank you card.  We have a small group of girls with big hearts.

On February 24, 2009, the GA's from Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro, Illinois, participated in the worship service at the Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County.  The girls sang the GA song and recited a memory verse.  Then they passed out old fashioned hand colored pictures of flowers with the caption , "Jesus loves you, and so do the GA's and Mission Friends of Elm Street Baptist Church."  The younger group, called Mission Friends, helped color pictures but did not attend the service.  We also took a case of hand decorated bottles of water for the staff at the home.  Everyone had a good time, and the residents and staff were very appreciative of the effort the girls put into this project.

Our Team Kid groups at The Gathering Place Baptist Church in Kettering, Ohio collected items off of our local Ronald McDonald's House wish list.  The kids then delivered the items to the house and were excited to know that it would be going to help other little kids.

Our Children in Action group made Valentines to deliver to the residents of The Rose Retirement Center in Des Moines, Iowa, and one of the mothers made cookies.  The children delivered valentines with messages about God's love and sang with people who were visiting in the dining room.  They also left valentines and cookies at people's apartment doors.

Sixteen GAs and RAs of First Baptist Church in Oblong, IL participated in CMD on February 13.  The children had early dismisal from school, so the leaders picked them up there and brought them to the church to decorate Valentine cookies, make cards, and decorate jars of vegetable soup.  Then adults and kids in 2 groups went out to visit members who don't get out much anymore.  The kids were so precious as they introduced themselves and visited with the older folks.  Everyone was blessed!
