Immanuel Korean Southern Baptist Church, Anaheim, California
Children's Ministry Day 2009 (Second Annual Event for CiA)
Perfect day (February 14, 2009) to show Christ's love on the Valentine's Day!
Two weeks prior to the CMD, children worked on making personalized Jesus Loves You Valentine's cards (100 each), 1 week before, the WMU ladies went to buy the 100 roses from the flowermart, and put them in the refrigerator (the flowers were intact!). The day of the CMD, WMU ladies and parents made 100 flower arrangements.
At 1:30 PM CiA/YiA visited Paramount Convalescent Hospital where we ministered to approximately 60 patients and 40 staff members.
Children and Youth were awesome as they "witnessed" for Jesus.

Love Baptist Church C-i-A group made hygiene bags for 40 children and 30 adults. The C-i-A group emjoyed puzzles, games, Bible study and then participated in making the hygiene bags. Our adults donated all the baggies and supplies for the children. The bags contained toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, all the assorted things you'd put in a bag. They included a gift card with the churches name on it and gave each person a witnessing bracelet in the bag. The children had a lunch and received thier badges. |

The Mission Friends, Girls-In-Action and Royal Ambassadors from First Baptist Church of Pearl City, Hawaii collected items for the Ronald McDonald House. We collected items such as; paper towels, zip lock bags, toliet paper, paper plates and aluminum foil. With the help of our WMU group, we also stuffed care bears to be given to the children of the Ronald McDonald House. Upon delivery, the children were given a tour of the house where many sick children call the house "a home away from home".

The Nuuanu Baptist Church Children In Action made Valentine's day cards, packed 85 ziploc bags with items such as soap, toothpaste, washcloth, shampoo, digital thermometer, deodorant, razor, etc. Along with adult chaperones, passed out the health kits to the homeless at Ala Moana Beach park and offered to pray for them. The kits were well received and the 8 children and 13 adults all enjoyed sharing God's love on Valentine's Day! |

New Hope Community Church CiA hosted a Loving Hearts Breakfast for the 29 Angel Tree children and their families which our church ministered to through the Angel Tree Christmas outreach in our community. The children helped prepare a healthy breakfast, set up tables, served breakfast, coordinated crafts and cookie decorating station for the Angel Tree children as well as led the church members to provide supplies for Loving Hearts health bags which were distributed to the families that attended. A Publich Health Nurse made a presentation on preventaitve measures during cold and flu season, facing painting was also a highlight of the morning.

Fellowship Baptist Mission in Battle Mountain, Nevada celebrated Children's Ministry Day on 2-14-2009. The event was from 11 am to 2 pm. We had 30 children from the church and community and 17 adults. We sang 2008 VBS songs and introduced Boomerang Express. We decorated with lots of hearts. The children made Valentines for family and shut-ins. They decorated and filled gift bags for 18 long term care patients and 2 local shut-ins. (shampoo, deodorant, shower gel, lotion, etc) They made hygiene packets (sample sizes: soap, kleenex, toothbrush, toothpaste, wipes, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, VBS tract, hygiene coloring book) for 30 children and 70 adults (with a disposable razor). They also brought 22 donations for Bingo prizes for our long term care patients and 13 stuffed animals for children who are victims of domestic violence, fire or accidents in our community. During the day we had a Bible study on helping those in need and another on keeping ourselves clean: mind, soul and body. The memory verses were printed on bandaids. During lunch (macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, apples, carrots, cookies, juice and water) the children had their blood pressure taken and listened to their own heart relaxed and after running. At the end of the day several of the children stayed and delivered the gift bags to long term care at our local hospital. All of the children received a certificate and a Boomerang Express "It all comes back to Jesus!" bracelet and bookmark. The local WIC office donated the hygiene coloring pages and our local dentist donated the toothbrushes. All other items were donated by families in our church. Everyone had a great time and the children were able to experience first hand ministry.
