We, the Mission Kids in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland gave coloring books and crayons to children in the local hospital. We collected coloring books and crayons from our church Bayside Baptist, and the outcone was pretty good.Big smile There were three boxes we decorated during class one night, One was a girl box, one was a boy box, and one was a both box, and all three boxes were filled! We also put on one of the little skits which were in the CMD book, and that was fun (and cute!)We might be in the newspaper, which is kinda cool...Smile

I'll try to get a pic on here sometime soon, if I acn figure out how

That's wonderful, Joanna! You have to let us know if your group is featured in the newspaper. We'd love to have a copy!

The GAs & RAs from Friendship Baptist Church in Litchfield, CT combined to put together appreciation baskets for the staff at our community hospital. The children baked cranberry bread and chocolate chip cookies, and collected personal care items (hand sanitizer, lotion, breath mints, gum, snacks, hot cocoa mix, etc.) to put in baskets. They also made thank-you cards for the hospital staff. We were able to visit the hospital and break into small groups to deliver the baskets. The hospital staff were all very touched that we though of them, they said no one had ever done anything like this for them before. It was exciting to see the children share God's love with those they met!

Teachers Vickie Love and Joanna Dexter at Bayside Baptist Church in Chesapeake Beach Maryland had a fun idea for Children's Ministry Day.  Our Mission kids group collected crayons and coloring books for the local hospital E.R. so children could have something to do while waiting.  We painted three colorful  heavy duty boxes with fun faces and stickers to hold all the coloring books and crayons.  We put stickers on each book and pack of crayons with our churches address and phone number .  On Children's ministry day we planned a "field trip" day and delivered the coloring books and crayons to the E.R. (we had pre-arranged our arrival and donation thru the hospital public relations spokesperson a couple of weeks in advance)  The children enjoyed collecting the items and making the boxes!

THe CiA Agents at Silver Spring Baptist Church had their Children's Ministry Day on Saturday, March 7th at "The Vineyard", a personal care home for individuals ranging from ages 25-92.   Each of the children were given assignments associated with "Doing Missions".  We prayed, all children sang, one did a scripture reading, others handed out drinks, bingo cards & buttons, and bingo prizes.  The children also played bingo with the residents and any child that won the game gave their prize to one of the residents.  It was a wonderful 2 hrs.  During our worship service on April 5th, we will be holding a "Children's Recognition Service" and performing the skits outlined in the "Promotion pack" and handing out their badges.  We ask the parents to pin the badges on their "bible bags" that were hand-made from one of our church members.

Our pictures were sent to the SCBA to be placed in our south central PA/Jersey monthly newsline.

We're real excited about this program and I pray for our leaders and children that we may continue to grow in missions as this is truly what our  Lord expects of us.

Blessings to all!
