Missouri: Children's Ministry Day 2009 Stories

   Five children and 6 adults from Fee Fee Baptist Church in Bridgeton (St. Louis) Missouri, went to Metro North Family Ministry Center in Jennings, MO Saturday, Feb. 21.

Theresa Smith (director of the center) told the group about the ministry, how many people they serve and what their work entails.
Mostly they are a large food pantry.   There is a small clothes closet that some clients use.  They serve about 400 clients on a regular basis, 700+ around Christmas time.

The group sorted many boxes of canned goods, marked out the bar code, and stocked shelves for the next few days of service.  The kids enjoyed the day and want to do this again.  They worked very hard and didn't even want to take a break when it was offered to them. One adult took video that she probably will send to you.  

We did a recognition in Sunday's service (Feb. 22) and gave the group each a certificate that the director of the center made for us.

	GAs and Leaders worked at the Golden Valley Door of Hope. This is a new crisis pregnancy center in our community. It will open March 1. We cleaned, organized, and hung pictures to help get the facility ready for clients. It is our hope that mother and fathers will learn the love of God when they enter this place.
